HAMMER is a Federal Training Center owned by the US Department of Energy (DOE) making it convenient for other Federal agencies to do business with us! Other government agencies and private businesses not associated with Hanford have the opportunity to use HAMMER through the DOE Strategic Partnership Projects program.
Payment mechanisms are in place and are accomplished through MIPRs, IAAs, checks, and credit cards, among others. Established parameters are in place to obtain use of our facilities and its services.
The key steps in the process involve:
- Preliminary discussions with HAMMER
- HAMMER prepares a proposal, budget estimates, and resource requirements
- HAMMER and the customer review and approve the proposal
- Customer submits funding
- DOE accepts customer’s funding and authorizes work to begin
HAMMER performs the work in compliance with the terms and conditions of the agreement. Billing is monthly, and payments are due within 30 days for non-federal government agencies. Federal entities and commercial customers provide advanced funding unless an exemption is granted by DOE. Rates are available for HAMMER upon request.
