Hazardous Energy Control Fact Sheet
Inadequate control of energy and compliance with the OSHA lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements prevents an estimated 120 fatalities and 50,000 injuries each year. Improperly controlled hazardous energy by craft workers, machine operators, and laborers who service equipment lose an average of 24 workdays for each injury.
The HAMMER Lockout/Tagout Training provides the first DOE complex Standardized Site-Wide curriculum followed by all Hanford contractors and sub-contractors. Training is performed by experienced instructors using props to provide hands-on skills and proficiency.
HAMMER Hanford Training classes are available to DOE and DOE-affiliated entities including Hanford contractors and their subcontractors.
