Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Status

Safety is the number one value at HAMMER. This includes embracing the tenets of the VPP and the guiding principles and core functions of Integrated Safety Management (ISM). VPP promotes effective worksite-based safety and health through cooperative relationships between labor and management.

In 2002, HAMMER achieved the Department of Energy Voluntary Protection Program (DOE-VPP) Star Status for its safety-conscious environment and safe work operations and has proudly maintained Superior status to-date. Star status is DOE’s and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s highest achievement level for outstanding safety and health programs. VPP Star Status signifies a strong partnership between labor, management, and government to exceed the minimum safety and health standards.

Safety is vital aspect of the day-to-day operations as thousands of students are trained each month. HAMMER embraces the tenets of the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and the guiding principles and core functions of Integrated Safety Management System(ISMS).
